Line judges will no longer work during Wimbledon matches from 2025, reports the press service of the Grand Slam tennis tournament.
From next season it has been decided to move to an electronic judging system.
This technology will be used in all qualifying and main draw matches and will replace referees who were responsible for determining “outs” and “faults” on serve.
Wimbledon was forced to take this step due to the ATP’s decision to introduce an electronic alert system on the men’s tour from 2025 in a bid to improve “accuracy and consistency”.
Wimbledon 2025 will take place from June 30 to July 13.
