Former tennis player Andrei Olkhovsky believes that the Russian Daniel Medvedev beat the greek Stefanos Tsitsipas because of psychological confidence.
On Wednesday, in the fourth round of the Masters in Shanghai, Medvedev defeated Tsitsipas with a score of 7:6 (7:3), 6:3.
– It was not an easy walk for Daniil – Tsitsipas resisted. As usually happens in such matches, the main asset of victory is psychological confidence. Medvedev is now psychologically confident and it worked in the game with Tsitsipas. However, Stefanos is no longer in the same form as he was when he was in the top five (ATP ranking), quotes “Championship” Olkhovsky.
In the next round of the tournament, Medvedev will face world number one Jannik Sinner of Italy.
