In two sets, Coco Gauff lost to Marta Kostyuk only five games
The fourth racket of the world, American tennis player Coco Gauff commented on the victory over the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (6:4, 6:1) in the third round of the tournament WTA 1000 V Wuhan (China).
“Today I played very well. Marta is a difficult opponent, but I am very pleased with my performance. I just try to finish every match. There have been a lot of matches in a very short period of time… But I’m very happy with the way I played today.”
In the updated WTA rankings, Coco Gauff improved her position, moving from 6th to 4th place.
In the quarter finals of the tournament in Wuhan, Coco Gauff will face Magda Linette from Poland – this meeting will take place tomorrow, October 11. Start – no earlier than 06:00 Kyiv time.
Let us remind you that in October Gauff already managed to win the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing, and on the way to the quarter-final final, the American beat the representative of Ukraine Yulia Starodubtseva in three sets.
