World number one Sinner feels uncomfortable with WADA’s appeal.

Italian tennis player Jannik sinner said he tried not to think about the doping trial situation because thinking about it made him uncomfortable.

On Sunday, Sinner beat Serbian Novak Djokovic in the final of the Masters in Shanghai. Previously, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) registered the World Anti-Doping Agency’s appeal against the decision of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) in the Sinner case. WADA demands that the Italian be disqualified for a period of one to two years.

“People think that if you win or are successful, you have no problem. But that’s not true, because the situation I find myself in is uncomfortable. I wouldn’t want to be in the position I am in now off the pitch, I would like to play more freely and even try to enjoy it a little more.

But this must be accepted. I feel strong when I go on the field, I try not to think about this situation and concentrate on everything I do. I give 100% in every match or training.

But there are times when I think about this question, it makes me uncomfortable. So yes, you perceive success differently. I learned that success will never change me as a person or as a player. I’m very happy with all the people I have and they know me very well, they know what I am like. And I know who I can trust. This is the most important thing for me. Anything I can accomplish on the pitch is just an addition,” Sinner said at a press conference.

In August, the ITIA announced that Sinner had tested positive for two drugs in March. The tennis player avoided disqualification because he proved that the banned substance clostebol entered his system by accident.
