Ukrainian beat Italian Paolini in straight sets
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk successfully started performances in Cincinnati at the tournament WTA 1000.
In the qualifying round, Kostyuk defeated Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in straight sets. The meeting lasted one hour and 16 minutes.
Kostyuk made three breaks in the first set, giving only one pitch to her opponent. In the second game, the situation repeated itself – the Ukrainian lost one game on her serve, but was able to break three times.
In the next round, Marta will play with the winner of the pair Magdalena Freich (Poland) – Katya Juvan (Slovenia). Recall that Kostyuk’s compatriot, Dayana Yastremska, was unable to reach the final of the qualification of the event in the United States.
