In the second round, the 26-year-old Russian, seeded number one, beat the Frenchman in straight sets. Alexander Müller with a score of 6:4, 6:1. The meeting lasted 1 hour 4 minutes.
Rublev will compete with Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
