Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova on air, MATCH PRIME explained why she supports “Spartacus” and also said that she was ready to return to the field in a Moscow club T-shirt.
Potapova is 23 years old and ranks 37th in the Women’s Tennis Association rankings.
– In fact, I had no choice. When I started working with an agent who had been a Spartak fan all his life, he took me to a match. It was probably from that moment that I developed a love for Spartak, for these emotions, for the fans and for the team. I don’t quite remember who the match was against, but I remember that Spartak lost. And the agent told me he wouldn’t take me with him anymore.
Fortunately, when I went to the match for the second time, Spartak won, and then the team won all the matches I watched. I always go to a Spartak match with some trepidation, as if I was still at that age,” Potapova said on the air of the program “RecipeTura” on MATCH PRIME.
In March last year, the tennis player participated in a tournament match in the United States wearing a “red and white” t-shirt.
– That was brave! Apparently all sorts of cool things happen by accident. No one had planned it, it was an unforeseen action. It turns out that the agent brought a custom T-shirt to America. And literally the day before the game, a boy came out wearing a basketball jersey. The thought came to me: “Why not?” »
I didn’t expect it to blow up this much. There were many different opinions. I was hated all over the world. But I was not only surprised, but amazed by the support our people gave me. I am grateful to Spartak fans and the Russian people for this colossal support: millions of messages and comments. They took to the streets and said: “We are with you, you are great! » It was great! I would say it again, but I won’t do it again. Let’s wait for the moment and use it correctly,” Potapova added.
On Saturday, Spartak will host Krasnodar in the 12th round match of the Russian Championship.
