Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa announced that she would no longer play in 2024 due to health issues.
The 26-year-old Spaniard is ranked 15th in the WTA rankings. The day before, Badosa bowed out in the semifinals of a tournament in Ningbo, where she faced Russian Daria Kasatkina.
— Unfortunately, due to health problems, I was unable to perform yesterday and will not be performing in Tokyo. The 2024 season is over for me. It was a very long journey during which I overcame the impossible. I’m very proud of myself because I was able to get back to where I wanted to be (among the best players in the world again).
“I look forward to the opportunity to recover and represent my country again,” Badosa wrote on social media.
