Athletistic / Tennis Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has opened up about her childhood idol.

“As a child, Justine Henin was my idol. I followed her because we are the same height. And yes, I liked the way she played,” Halep said at a press conference.

Recall that Belgian Justine Henin is a former world number one and seven-time Grand Slam winner.

Note that Simona Halep reached the final of the Toronto tournament by beating the American Jessica Pegula (2:6, 6:3, 6:4). In the final, the Romanian will meet the winner of the world’s first racket Igi Sventek – Brazilian tennis player Beatriz Haddad-Maia.
