“Daniil was the first racketeer in the world, that already says a lot.” Olkhovsky on Medvedev’s chances of entering the Tennis Hall of Fame

Andrei Olkhovsky, two-time winner of Grand Slam tournaments in mixed doubles, believes that current Russian players Daniel Medvedev has the greatest chance of entering the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Previously, Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin were inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame; in August, Maria Sharapova will become a member of the Hall.

“I’m afraid none of the tennis players have reached that level yet. If we take tennis players, then Medvedev probably has the best results. Maybe something like this will happen in the future. The fact that Daniil was the world’s first racketeer already speaks for itself. “He is a very famous athlete who has achieved outstanding results,” Olkhovsky told Soviet Sport.

Medvedev is 28 years old and a winner of the US Open.
