Russian tennis players Mirra Andreeva and Diane Schneider at the proposal of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, they can pay 2.5 million rubles for silver medals at the Olympic Games in Paris, it follows from the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, published on the projects portal regulatory legal acts.
Athletes’ coaches must pay 2 million rubles each, and specialists and staff 500,000 rubles each.
Andreeva and Schneider became silver medalists at the 2024 Olympic Games in doubles. A total of 15 Russian athletes took part in the Paris Olympics.
Previously, the Ministry of Sports proposed establishing monetary rewards for the winners and medalists of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris: 4 million rubles for a gold medal; 2.5 million rubles – for a silver medal; 1.7 million rubles – for a bronze medal. Russian athletes won 64 medals at the 2024 Paralympics: 20 gold, 21 silver and 23 bronze.
