Rublev, seeded sixth in the tournament, lost with a score of 6:7 (6:8), 6:7 (5:7). In the first game, the Russian was unable to serve for a set.
In the next round, Serundolo will face the winner of the match between the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (10th seed) and the Chilean Alejandro Tabilo.
