Both Ukrainians successfully passed the qualification
Ukrainian tennis players Marta Kostyuk and Angelina Kalinina will play in the main draw of the tournament WTA 1000 in American cincinnati. Ukrainians successfully overcame the qualification.
Kalinina defeated Petra Martic from Croatia in three sets. Having lost the first set, the Ukrainian turned the tide of the meeting in the second. In the decisive game, Kalinina immediately took two submissions from the Croatian, and confidently brought the match to victory.
Kostyuk in a match with Magdalena Frenkh from Poland, having easily won the first set, lost in the second. A tough struggle ensued in the decisive game. Marta missed a match point on her serve, but won the match on her opponent’s serve.
The main draw of the tournament in Cincinnati will be held from 15 to 21 August. In the first round, Kalinina will play with Eliza Mertens from Belgium on August 16. Kostyuk will meet with Italian Camila Giorgi on the same day.
