Sventek won a strong-willed victory over Krejcikova in the opening match of the WTA Final Tournament

Iga was able to turn the tide of the meeting, although after losing the opening set she was losing 0:3 in the second game

World number two Iga Šwiętek started with a victory Final WTA tournament in Saudi Arabian Riyadh. The Polish tennis player beat Barbora Krejcikova from the Czech Republic.

The match lasted 2 hours and 35 minutes. The opening game began with a break by Krejcikova, who then played well on her serve and was able to maintain the advantage (6:4).

The second set started completely disastrously for Szwiatek. She allowed Krejcikova to lead with two breaks (0:3), but showed real character and turned the tide of the game. Subsequently, Swiatek took three games on Barbora’s serve and equalized the game.

In the decisive third set, Iga had an unconditional advantage on the court. Krejcikova was never able to recover from Swiatek’s comeback in the last game, losing without a chance with a score of 2:6.

Let us remind you that Sventek and Krejcikova were included in the Orange Group at the WTA Final Tournament. Iga will play her next match against Coco Gauff, while Barbora will face Jessica Pegula.
