The representative of Kazakhstan failed the third set, winning only one game
Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina lost to a Chinese woman Zheng Qingwen in the second round of singles Final WTA tournament.
The match lasted 2 hours and 27 minutes. In the opening game, the fight on the court was as intense as possible – we had to resort to a tiebreaker, which was reserved by Zheng Qingwen.
The second set was also very competitive. With the score 2:2, Rybakina lost the game on her serve, but immediately made a reverse break, followed by another. The final 6:3 in favor of Elena looked like an absolutely logical outcome of the game.
In the decisive third set, contrary to expectations, there was no fight. Zheng held her serve well and in addition made two breaks, which helped her celebrate her first victory in Riyadh. In terms of the total number of winners, the Chinese woman was significantly ahead today – 25:19, and in terms of the number of unforced errors, both rivals were equal – 40:40.
