Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev withdrew from the ATP 250 tournament in Metz, France, due to an abdominal injury and will undergo treatment in Turin, reports the press service of the competition organizers.
On Tuesday, Rublev defeated Italian Lorenzo Sonego 7:6 (7:3) and 7:5 in the second round.
— During the match, Rublev felt pain, which was confirmed by the doctors on site, who suggested that the athlete was suffering from an abdominal injury. “He has decided to withdraw from the tournament and travel to Turin to undergo treatment and recovery, as well as to increase his chances of participating in the ATP Finals,” the statement said.
