Gauff beats Schwiatek to reach WTA Finals semifinals

American Corey Gauff beat former world number one Igu Schwiatek of Poland during the group stage match of the WTA final tournament.

The match ended with Gauff winning in two sets – 6:3, 6:4. The opponents spent 1 hour and 48 minutes on the field. They perform within the Orange Group.

After two victories, Gauff secured her place in the tournament playoffs. American Jessica Pegula lost to Czech Barbora Krejcikova in another match of the day and lost her chances of qualifying for the group.
