French tennis player Humbert apologized to Khachanov for his behavior during the semi-finals of the Paris Masters

French tennis player Hugo Humbert apologized to Russian Karen Khachanov for his behavior during the semi-final of the Paris Masters tournament.

Khachanov lost to Humbert last week with a score of 7:6 (8:6), 4:6, 3:6. The Russian injured his leg during the match and could no longer move normally. Humbert rejoiced loudly after each point won. After the match, Khachanov criticized the 26-year-old Frenchman for his behavior.

— I would like to say a few words after the controversy concerning my semi-final against Karen. After the physiotherapist came to check on him, I thought it was cramps, because after two and a half hours of intense play, I almost started cramping myself. I lost a few matches this year in similar circumstances and this time I remained very focused on the goal.

I am sorry that this has been misunderstood and, even worse, called a lack of fair play. I contacted Karen to apologize. I have a lot of respect for Khachanov and all the opponents I have faced. This will serve as a lesson for me to behave better in the future,” Humbert wrote on the social network.
