The American beat the world number one in straight sets
American tennis player Coco Gauff (No. 3 in the world ranking) beat the “neutral” Arina Sabalenkothe first racket of the world, in the semifinals WTA Final Tournament, which takes place in Riyadh.
In the first set, Coco gave her serve to her opponent twice and immediately made a return break. In the tiebreaker, the American finished the game with only the fourth set point – 7:4. In the second game, Gauff made four breaks, losing two games on her serve – 6:3.
Note that during the entire match Coco converted 6 out of 11 break points. Sabalenka made 47 unforced errors, Gauff had almost twice as many – 27.
In the final, Gauff will play with Chinese Zheng Qingwen, who today beat Czech Barbora Krejcikova in two sets. The decisive match of the tournament will take place on November 9.
