Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev lost to American Taylor Fritz in the first match of the group stage of the ATP Finals tournament, which took place in Turin, Italy.
The match ended with Fritz winning with a score of 6:4, 6:3. The match lasted 1 hour 20 minutes.
In the second set, on Fritz’s serve, Medvedev was fined one point for throwing his racket onto the court for the second time. Then the Russian defiantly threw and dropped the racket several times, and also held it with the handle forward on the opponent’s serve.
Ilie Nastase’s group also includes Italian Jannik Sinner and Australian Alex De Minaur. The match between the two will take place later on Sunday. Medvedev’s next opponent will be De Minaur.
