Both tennis players lost their first matches
The fourth racket of the world Daniil Medvedev beat the Australian Alexa De Minaura in the second round of the group stage ATP 2024 Final Tournament.
The two-set match lasted one hour and 20 minutes. In the first game, Medvedev made two breaks. In the second set, the tennis players took their own serves for a long time without any problems, until in the ninth game Daniil managed to convert his only break point.
Both players lost their first matches in the group to Ilie Nastase. De Minaur lost to world number one Jannik Sinner, and Medvedev to Taylor Fritz.
On Tuesday there will be another duel of the quartet, Sinner – Fritz. In the final round, Medvedev will meet Yannick, De Minaur will play against Taylor. Two tennis players from the group will advance to the semifinals.
The 2024 ATP Finals will end on November 17. Defending champion Novak Djokovic withdrew from the tournament due to injury.
