Selivanenko believes Rublev’s level is not enough to defeat Zverev and Alcaraz

Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFT) Alexey Selivanenko believes that Russia Andrei Rublev shows his level at the final ATP tournament, but at the moment he is not able to beat the representatives of the top 3 of the ATP ranking.

On Wednesday, Rublev suffered his second defeat at the Final Tournament in Turin, losing to world number three Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 3:6, 7:6 (8:10).

— Andrey, in general, from a game point of view, played at his level, it’s just that it is not enough now to beat Sasha Zverev and Carlos. Yes, he said it himself in his post-match comments. As for the series of six consecutive matches lost in straight sets at this tournament, then, of course, this latently irritates Andrey himself. But on the other hand, he regularly ranks in the top eight at the end of the season,” Selivanenko said, as quoted by RB Sport.

In the next match of the tournament, Rublev will face Norwegian Casper Ruud.
