The competition takes place in Malaga, Spain. Sramkova defeated Tomljanovic with a score of 6:1, 6:2. The meeting lasted 1 hour 3 minutes.
Earlier, another representative of Slovakia, Victoria Khrunchakova, defeated Kimberly Birrell – 7:5, 6:7 (4:7), 6:3.
Slovak tennis players won the best-of-three series with a score of 2-0 and reached the semi-finals of the tournament. They will face the winners of the match between the national teams of Canada and Great Britain to reach the final. The teams from Poland and Italy will face each other in the other semi-final. The Slovaks reach this stage of the competition for the first time since 2013.
The Russian national team has been suspended from team competitions since 2022 by decision of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). At the time of the decision to exclude the Russians, they were the current winners of the Billie Jean King Cup.
