Ukrainian in a tense duel beat Camila Giorgi from Italy

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk advanced to the second round of the tournament WTA 1000 in cincinnati. Ukrainian in three sets beat Camila Giorgi from Italy.

The match lasted over two and a half hours. Martha won the first set and took a 5-2 lead in the second. However, she missed two match points and lost 5 games in a row, giving up the second set.

In the decisive set, the Italian took the lead 3-0 with courage, but Kostyuk managed to return to the match. The Ukrainian turned the tide of the meeting and finally mastered her own serve. Kostyuk won the match, winning the final game to zero.

Earlier, Angelina Kalinina was unable to get into the second round of the tournament in Cincinnati. The Ukrainian lost to Elise Mertens from Belgium, taking only two games per match.

In the next round, Kostyuk will face seventh seed Jessica Pegula of the USA.
