The Netherlands beat Germany and became the first finalist of the 2024 Davis Cup

Van de Zandschulp and Grikspor won their matches in three sets, no doubles match was needed

Team Netherlands reached the final Davis Cup 2024 thanks to the victory over the team Germany with a score of 2:0.

In the first fight, Botik van de Zandshulp overcame the resistance of Daniel Altmaier. In the first set, the opponents confidently took their serves until the German failed with the score 4:4.

In an incredible second set, Altmaier came back from 2:4, and in a protracted tiebreak he won back five match points from his opponent, after which he equalized the score on the fourth attempt – 14:12. And yet, in the third game, Botik took his toll – two breaks against one, and the final triumph.

Note that the 29-year-old Dutchman won his third victory in a row at the tournament. Earlier, in a confrontation with Spain, he first finally ended the career of the legendary Rafael Nadal, and then, in tandem with Wesley Koolhof, beat Carlos Alcaraz and Marcel Granollers.

Van Zandschulp was ready to play in doubles today, but the third match was not needed. Tallon Grixpor achieved a strong-willed victory in a duel with Jan-Lennard Struff. The German tennis player confidently triumphed in the tiebreak (7:4), but the next two sets remained with his opponent. For Grixpor, one realized break point in each game was enough for success.

The Netherlands reached the Davis Cup final for the first time in history. Their opponent will be determined in the battle between last year’s finalists – Australia and Italy.
