Murray becomes Djokovic’s new coach

The Briton retired in July at Wimbledon

Former world number one Novak Djokovic announced that another ex-world tennis star, the Briton, will become his new coach Andy Murray.

“We’ve been playing with each other since we were kids. For 25 years we were rivals, pushing each other beyond our limits. We had some of the most epic battles in our sport. We have been called game changers, risk takers, history makers. I thought our story was already over. But it turns out she has a final chapter. It’s time for one of my toughest opponents to take his place in my corner. Welcome aboard Coach Andy Murray,” Novak wrote.

Murray said that he would join the Serbian team in the off-season. The Briton will help Novak prepare for the 2025 Australian Open.

Andy Murray is a former world No. 1 and the only two-time Olympic singles champion in history. The Briton won Wimbledon twice, in 2013 and 2016, and also has the US Open title in 2012.

Andy retired in July. The Briton played his last match in the doubles at Wimbledon 2024 with his brother Jamie.
