Ukrainian-Latvian couple advanced to the next round of the tournament
Ukrainian tennis player Ludmila Kichenok won the first match in doubles at the WTA 1000 hard tournament in Cincinnati.
Together with the Latvian tennis player Elena Ostapenko, the Ukrainian beat the tandem of Kirsten Flipkens (Belgium) and Sarah Sorribes-Tormo (Spain).
The match lasted 82 minutes. Kichenok and Ostapenko filed right through once, made four double faults, converted 5 out of 10 break points they earned, and also lost two games on their serve.
In the second round, Kichenok and Ostapenko will play with the winners of the duel between Lucia Gradecka / Sania Mirza – Emma Radukanu / Elena Rybakina.
