My goal was to stay in the game every hand and try to put pressure on him at the first opportunity. Medvedev also shared his expectations for the upcoming quarter-final match with American Taylor Fritz.
Taylor is a great player. We met several times. We had a session before the ATP Cup and it looked like he beat me, which doesn’t really matter, but I said to my coach, “Wow, he can play really well, this year could be good for him.” Then he won (the Masters tournament) in Indian Wells. Maybe he could do better in other tournaments, but he’s a Masters winner. He’s an amazing player and I have to show my best tennis to beat him,” Medvedev added.
