Athletistic/Tennis. US tennis player Taylor Fritz has responded to criticism raining down on him after joking in an interview that he wouldn’t want to see Serbian Novak Djokovic at the US Open.
“The problem with the press transcript is that it’s just plain text, it’s not entirely clear what was said. What I said with a smile was not nothing more than a compliment to Novak, nothing more,” Fritz noted.
Taylor previously said ‘it would be better for any player if Novak didn’t play’, commenting on Djokovic’s travel ban to the US due to the Serbian tennis player’s refusal to get a coronavirus shot .
