Earlier it became known that the Swiss, who played at Wimbledon 2021, could play at the ATP tournament in Basel. Note that the 40-year-old tennis player forfeited Roland Garros on April 12, 2022, as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
“It seems to me that it is very difficult to come back after such a long absence from the court. He had a serious injury, from which it is difficult to recover in a short time. Of course he will try, it will be interesting, but I don’t know how everything will turn out,” Telegraf Rublev quotes.
The Basel tournament, which Federer has won 10 times, will take place in October 2022.
