The winner of 43 WTA doubles titles withdrew from the US Open due to a tendon rupture

Indian tennis player Sanya Mirza announced that she will not participate in the US Open due to a hand injury.

In January, Mirza announced his retirement at the end of the season.

“I don’t have very good news. I injured my forearm/elbow during a match at a Canal tournament two weeks ago. I didn’t realize how bad it was until I got the pictures, and unfortunately I tore my tendons.

I’ll be out for a few weeks, so I’m out of the US Open. It’s a terrible time, some of my retirement plans will change, but I’ll keep you all posted,” Mirza wrote on the social network.

Mirza is the winner of six Grand Slam tournaments in doubles and mixed doubles, she has also won 43 WTA doubles tournaments.

The US Open will be held in New York from August 29 to September 11.
