Athletistic/Tennis. 18-year-old American tennis player Corey Gauff has explained what being “the best tennis player in the world” means to her.
“For a long time I went on the court trying to be the next great American, whoever she was, the next Serena. But that’s not why I play tennis. I used to to say I wanted to be the greatest, because that’s what people wanted to hear. Now I’m saying it, because that’s what I want for myself,” Gauff said.
Corey Gauff, 18, is the winner of two Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tournaments and the runner-up of a Grand Slam singles tournament – the French Open (“Roland Garros”) in 2022. During the Roland Garros final, Gauff lost to Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek with a score of 1:6, 3:6.
