Kozlov is ranked 110th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings, Medvedev is seeded number one. Previously, players did not meet in tournaments.
Another representative of Russia Andrey Rublev (ninth seed) will play with Serbian Laszlo Djere, and if he reaches the quarter-finals, he can join Spaniard Rafael Nadal (2). Karen Khachanov (27) will face American Denis Kudla in the first round, Aslan Karatsev will face Italian Fabio Fognini at the start of the competition.
