sport.Fr/Tennis. Victoria Azarenka, a two-time Australian Open champion and ex-world No. 1 from Belarus, has criticized the decision to withdraw Russian and Belarusian tennis players from participating in Wimbledon.

Recall that the organizers of Wimbledon announced that Russian and Belarusian athletes will not be allowed to participate in the 2022 tournament.

“If you ask me if I agree with the withdrawal from Wimbledon, if I see their arguments after a personal conversation with them, no, I don’t see their arguments,” Azarenka told Reuters.

The Belarusian tennis player also stressed that she never supported war and violence.

Note that Azarenka is a former world number one, winner of two Grand Slam tournaments and the 2012 Olympic Games in mixed doubles with Maxim Mirny, as well as bronze medalist in singles.
