American tennis player Serena Williams will appear on the cover of Time magazine for the week of September 12-19, 2022.
On the night of August 30, Williams will play the US Open first round match against Montenegrin tennis player Danka Kovinic. This game may be the last of an American’s career.
“Olympia doesn’t like it when I play tennis,” Serena Williams said in an interview with the publication, citing one of the reasons she’s ending her career. The Olympia tennis player’s daughter will turn 5 on September 1. Her father and Serena’s husband is businessman Alexis Ohanian.
Serena Williams is 40 years old. She is a four-time Olympic champion. Because of the tennis player 38 victories in Grand Slam tournaments. With 23 singles titles in these tournaments, she ranks second in the history of women’s tennis behind Margaret Smith-Court (24).
Williams has won the WTA Championship five times.
