Ukrainian woman also starts wrestling in doubles today
Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok paired with a brazilian Rafael Matos lost in the opening match of the mixed doubles tournament at the US Open.
The Ukrainian-Brazilian duo lost in two sets to a pair of Elena Ostapenko/David Vega Hernandez (Latvia/Spain). Ludmila and Rafael did not convert any of the six break points and lost two games on their serves.
Kichenok and Matos held the third joint tournament. This year, tennis players won one victory at Roland Garros, and at Wimbledon they lost in the opening match.
Recall that Kichenok and Ostapenko will perform together in the doubles US Open. The Ukrainian-Latvian couple will play the opening match on September 1 with Deva Udvardi from Hungary and Tamara Zidansek from Slovenia.
