Martha and Zhang Shuai gave only three games to their opponents
Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk and Chinese Zhang Shuai advanced to the third round doubles US Open.
In the 1/16 final match, the Ukrainian-Chinese duet defeated Teresa Mikhalikova from Slovakia and Belarus Alexandra Sasnovich in two sets.
Tennis players spent almost one hour on the court. Kostyuk and Shuai converted four out of five breakpoints without losing a single game to their opponents on their serve.
In the third round, Kostyuk and Shuai will play against the winners of the match Desire Krawczyk / Demi Schurs – Miyu Kato / Aldila Sutjiadi.
Earlier, Kostyuk retired from singles in the US Open, losing to Victoria Azarenka (2:6, 3:6) in the second round.
