“It’s rude. I don’t think I’ll play under the Russian flag anymore. They just won’t give it back to us. My country took away my dream.
When I was little, I dreamed of standing with a trophy, watching my country’s flag rise, and singing the national anthem. This dream has been taken away from me. This will not happen again,” the athlete said on the YouTube channel “Attention, Sobchak”.
In the first round of the 2022 US Open, Kasatkina lost to Harriet Dart and left the tournament.
