Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov said he was ready for a long game against the Australian Nika Kiriosa in the quarter-finals of the US Open.
The match, which took place on Wednesday, lasted 3 hours 41 minutes and ended with the score of 7:5, 4:6, 7:5, 6:7 (3:7), 6:4 in favor of the representative of Russia.
– I did it! I’m really proud of myself, I was focused from start to finish. It was a crazy match, but I was ready to fight and play five sets, – the ATP website quotes Khachanov.
Khachanov, 26, reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career. His next opponent at the US Open will be Norwegian Kasper Ruud.
