Russian tennis player Diana Schneider has qualified for the semi-finals of the US Open Women’s Championship.
At the quarter-final stage, the 18-year-old Schneider, the tournament’s No. 7 seed, confidently outplayed Britain’s Rana Akua Stoiber in straight sets – 6:4, 6:3. Schneider’s next opponent on the way to the final will be the Czech Lucy Gavlichkova.
Another Russian tennis player, 15 Mirra Andreeva lost to Philippine representative Alexandra Eala – 4:6, 0:6.
