Alcaraz, 19, became the youngest TBS semi-finalist in 17 years since compatriot Rafael Nadal won the French Open (Roland Garros) in 2005 at the same age. Alcaraz also became the youngest US Open semi-finalist since 1990, when the tournament was won by 19-year-old American tennis player Pete Sampras.
