Ukrainian was inferior to the first seed during the match
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya lost in the first round of the tournament WTA 250 in Slovenian Portorož. The Ukrainian failed to finish the match with the first seeded Briton Emma Radukanu.
In the ninth game of the second game, Dayana felt pain in her right wrist, which had been taped from the very beginning of the fight. After consulting with a doctor, the Ukrainian decided to stop the match.
Yastremskaya lost during the fight. Radukan won the first set 6:2. In the second game, the British also led with a break when Dayana was injured.
Yastremskaya suffered the eighth defeat in a row, without winning a single set against her rivals during this time. The last time Dayana won was in June when she defeated Elena Ostapenko from Latvia at a tournament in Birmingham.
Recall that in the first round of the tournament in Portoroz, Marta Kostyuk dropped out. Lesya Tsurenko will fight with Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse on September 13.
