Athletistic/Tennis. Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova says winning a Grand Slam tournament is fundamentally different from winning an Olympic medal.
“I can’t compare an Olympic medal and any title in a tennis tournament. They are completely different things. I can’t even explain it, I guess. Before going to the Olympics, I I said it was more important for any tennis player to win a Grand Slam tournament. But when you immerse yourself in the Olympic atmosphere… It’s something unforgettable and incredible. I I’m sure any athlete is crazy to win this medal,” Kudermetova said.
Veronika Kudermetova, partnered with Elena Vesnina, fought for the bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. On July 31, 2021, Kudermetova and Vesnina in the match for 3rd place played with Brazilian tennis players Luisa Stefani and Laura Pigossi, who lost with the score 6:4, 4:6, 0:1.
Kudermetova played her last match so far on April 28, 2022. In the 1/32 round of the Mutua Madrid Open tournament, she lost to Spain representative Paula Badosa.
