Danil Kalenichenko was suspended for three years and six months due to a positive test received in November 2021.

Ukrainian tennis player Danil Kalenichenko received a suspension for three and a half years. According to the ITF website, the athlete passed a positive doping test last November at the ATP Challenger Tour tournament in Bratislava.

In the urine of a 28-year-old player, the metabolite LGD-4033 (ligandrol) was found – a substance belonging to category S1 of the WADA prohibited list and one of the types of anabolics.

It was noted that Kalenichenko from the beginning denied the fact of intentional use of the drug, but could not confirm that the substance entered his body accidentally. The disqualification will start counting from November 9, 2021. Thus, Kalenichenko can enter the court no earlier than May 9, 2025.

Note that the 28-year-old tennis player has won four ITF titles in singles and 19 in doubles. The best position in the ATP ranking is 439th. In 2016, Kalenichenko made his debut for the Ukrainian national team in the Davis Cup match against Japan.

We remind you, earlier, another Ukrainian tennis player, Timur Mukhtarulin, was caught using illegal drugs.
