This Friday, Roger Federer’s professional tennis story was closed. The Swiss said goodbye to the activity in which he became an icon, playing a doubles duel with Rafael Nadal on the opening day of the Laver Cup.
After 24 years of career, 310 weeks as world number one and with 20 Grand Slam titles under his arm, Her Majesty said goodbye to professionalism. And it was a closing cycle full of emotion and tears.
It’s a day that will go down in history, like the last with Federer on a tennis court. Now opens the stage of the legend, the one that marked white sport for decades.
