Vinicius Junior signs new Real Madrid contract until 2032

Vinicius Junior has signed a new contract extension with Real Madrid that keeps him at the Spanish club until June 2032, the team announced on Thursday afternoon. The club stated in its announcement that Vinicius has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in its history.

The Brazilian player wrote on Instagram that eight years at the Bernabeu is not enough, adding six more and forever. According to Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte, Real Madrid has spread the player's bonus payment over five years, while radio station Cadena SER reported that his salary will be 24 million euros net per season.

Contract Negotiations and Season Opener

Real Madrid had previously been unable to agree on a contract extension because the club's initial offer fell below the player's salary demands, with his previous deal set to expire next June. Arsenal had monitored the situation, and media reports indicated that Vinicius spoke with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta before Spanish journalists reported he was closer to staying.

Spanish newspaper AS reported that the player is pleased after Real Madrid raised its offer in a gesture of trust, while Marca reported that a meeting brought both sides together and restored peace. Real Madrid will open the new Spanish league season with an away match against Espanyol on August 22 at 9:30 p.m.
