Callum Walsh defeated Tyler Denny by unanimous decision in a middleweight boxing contest at the 3Arena in Dublin on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The victory at Zuffa Boxing 10 maintained the Irish fighter's unbeaten record and top contender status. Judges scored the ten-round bout 98-91 twice and 96-90 in favor of Walsh.
The fight presented early difficulty for Walsh when Denny, a former European champion and tough British veteran, scored a knockdown in the opening round. Walsh found himself awkwardly positioned in front of Denny and bent low before taking a shot and slipping to a knee. The referee ruled the fall a knockdown against the Irish middleweight.
Walsh found a fast response in the second round as Denny pressed forward. Walsh launched an arching left cross directly to the point of the English southpaw's chin, dropping Denny heavily to the canvas. Denny rose to fight on, but Walsh popped up from beneath an attack, landed a right hook, and finished the round slugging Denny into the ropes.
Middle Rounds and Point Deductions
Denny shook off the damage from the second round and advanced into the fourth. By the end of the fourth round, Walsh backed up and allowed his southpaw opponent to move forward. Walsh maintained control by moving, hitting, and forcing Denny to work to pin him down while landing accurate counterpunches.
Denny kept scrapping forward and landed solid punches in the sixth round. Denny trudged on swinging wildly, but Walsh maneuvered well to strike back. The Irishman caught Denny in the head with a left-right combination. Denny felt the shots, remained determined, and cleaved away with uppercuts in close quarters.
The referee intervened to penalize both boxers during the fight. The referee took a point off Walsh for holding, then evened up the penalties by taking a point off Denny for hitting behind the head.
Walsh later exploded forward with a savage sequence of punches to the head that left Denny stranded and standing still. However, Walsh emerged from a physical clash with a cut over his left eye that bled badly immediately. Walsh also looked frustrated after picking up an additional nick on his cheek from scrappy collisions as Denny leaned into him.
Final Round and Post-Fight Reactions
In the tenth round, Walsh connected with a lead right uppercut. Denny got after him with hooks, catching Walsh with his southpaw left and right hands. Another hard left punch from Walsh snagged Denny, and although he could not put the Englishman down a second time, Walsh made sure he finished the bout in the ascendancy.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the fight, Walsh said: "It was a lot harder than I thought. In the second round we clashed heads. I think he broke my orbital bone. It was crunching the whole time."
Walsh added: "It was very tough. I'm very critical of myself. I should have been a lot better. I wish I could have been better. He's tough, awkward and tricky, but we'll go again."
The Dublin event also preceded another upcoming middleweight bout. Aaron McKenna is scheduled to fight Etinosa Oliha for the IBF middleweight world title live on Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Main Event.
