Dynamo Moscow came from behind to defeat Rodina 3-1 in a fifth-round Russian Premier League derby at VTB Arena on August 23.
According to news reported by sports website Championat, the host team fell behind in the 32nd minute when Iker Pozo opened the scoring for Rodina, before Dynamo responded with three unanswered goals to claim victory.
Rodina took the initial lead against the run of play when Spanish midfielder Pozo found the net for the visiting team. Dynamo equalised six minutes later in the 38th minute through forward Konstantin Tyukavin, sending the teams into half time level at 1-1.
Tyukavin struck again early in the second half, completing his brace in the 49th minute to put Dynamo ahead for the first time in the match. Midfielder Anton Miranchuk secured the win six minutes later, scoring in the 55th minute to set the final 3-1 scoreline.
Konstantin Tyukavin Goal Milestone
Tyukavin's double marked a major individual landmark, taking his tally to 50 goals for Dynamo Moscow in the Russian championship. The Russian international forward became only the second player in the 21st century to reach 50 league goals for the club.
The only other footballer to achieve that scoring milestone for Dynamo since 2000 is former Germany international striker Kevin Kuranyi. Kuranyi played for the Moscow club between 2010 and 2015, establishing himself as a key figure in the team's attack during his five-year tenure in the Russian capital.
Player Performance and Expert Reaction
Dynamo attacker Yaroslav Gladyshev was named the official player of the match following an influential performance in forward areas throughout the derby encounter at VTB Arena.
Evaluating the match for internet portal Dzen, former USSR Cup winner Aleksandr Grishin praised the performance of the young player. Grishin said that Gladyshev brought positivity to Dynamo's attack during the victory.
Grishin is a former Soviet and Russian midfielder who won the USSR Cup with CSKA Moscow in 1991 during the final season of the Soviet football tournament before moving into coaching and football analysis.
League Table and Next Fixtures
The comeback victory moved Dynamo Moscow up to sixth place in the Alfa-Bank Russian Premier League standings, raising their total to seven points from five matches. Rodina remain in 13th position in the 16-team league with four points.
Both Moscow clubs return to league action on the weekend of August 29 and 30. Dynamo will travel across the capital to face Lokomotiv Moscow in another intra-city derby on August 29. Rodina will host Baltic coast side Baltika Kaliningrad the following day on August 30.
