Isenko saved the penalty in the 81st minute
Vorskla minimally beat on the road Polesie in the semi-final match of the Ukrainian Cup – 1:0.
The Poltava team took the lead before the break through the efforts of Sergei Myakushko, who took advantage of Ruslan Stepanyuk’s pass.
At the 80th minute, the meeting was interrupted due to an air raid warning in Ukraine. After the game resumed, referee Maxim Kozyryatsky awarded a penalty to Vorskla. However, Philip Budkovsky was unable to equalize the score: the striker’s shot from the 11-meter mark was parried by Pavel Isenko.
Until the end of the meeting, Polesie failed to win back. The Zhytomyr team suffered its fifth defeat in a row in all tournaments.
Vorskla reached the final of the Ukrainian Cup, where it will play Shakhtar. The decisive match of the tournament will take place in Rivne at the Avangard Arena on May 15.
Interestingly, Vorskla and Shakhtar have already played each other in the Ukrainian Cup final. In 2009, the victory and trophy went to the Poltava club.
