The 10-round contest at the bp pulse LIVE arena will see all three world titles up for grabs as the two champions battle for division supremacy. Cameron holds the World Boxing Organization belt, while Mayer comes into the ring holding the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council titles.
Super welterweight boxing, also known as junior middleweight, carries a weight limit of 154 pounds. A unification fight brings together titleholders from the sport's major sanctioning bodies to crown a primary champion in the weight division.
Cameron, the 34-year-old fighter from the United Kingdom, enters the bout with a record of 22 wins and one loss, including eight victories by knockout. Mayer, representing the United States, brings a record of 22 wins and two losses with five knockouts.
Tension between the two fighters escalated during pre-fight proceedings, where Mayer and Cameron had to be split by security following a heated clash.
Main card and title fights
In the chief support bout of the evening, unified WBC and WBO lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois takes on former United States Olympian Amelia Moore.
Lightweight boxing features a weight limit of 135 pounds, and Dubois defends her titles against Moore in one of two major championship contests on the bill.
Together, the two world title fights between Mayer and Cameron and Dubois and Moore represent the most significant women's boxing card held in Birmingham in recent history.
Three-weight world champion Terri Harper also features on the main card, returning to action against Miranda Reyes at super-welterweight.
The main card, held under the MVPW-06 banner with a UK versus USA theme, also includes fight action between Reina Tellez and Jessica Barry, as well as Tysie Gallagher against Brandi Robinson.

The preliminary card in Birmingham features local interest as Dylan Cheema takes on Scott Melvin, while Shannon Courtenay faces off against Ebonie Cotton.
Additional undercard contests on the bill see Neeraj Goyat take on Yessin Koulali, while Gemma Richardson fights Kirstie Bavington.
